Welcome Back!

I hope you all had a great weekend and are suitably back into the swing of what ever it is that you do to pass your respective working (or non working) week?

After spending the first half of the weekend hanging out with friends, I jumped on the London bound ‘Choo Choo’ and headed up to the East End of the Capital for a special Bump & Hustle at The Elbow Room in Shoreditch, which was a real blast! A big turn out saw everyone donning their dancing boots for Bump & Hustle Vs Betterdays. It was also fantastic to see some of our old Betterdays regulars joining the fun, and as they say “A good time was had by all!”

Everyone involved behind the decks pulled some great tunes out of the bag and there were several head turning moments as the night heated up!

DJ Alena made the trip over from Moscow and literally blew the competition out of the water with some seriously danceable grooves, which also seem to have swelled my wants lists to boot!

So after her fantastic guest mix from last week it’s time to hit you up with the next instalment of her exclusive mix. Part 2 takes a slightly more modern slant on things and showcases the other side of her collecting habits, with a large helping of Modern Soul, Funked up Disco and some Rare Grooves thrown in for good measure as well.

Hopefully there will be more here at The Hook And Sling from DJ Alena in the near future, but for now let’s give it up for Part 2.
