The Popcorn King steps up to the plate with his current top five 45s

Long forgotten Storming R& B dancer on the legendary Stax label from 1964. Sounds great next to Robert Parkers ‘Lets Go Baby‘

Gloria Walker And The Chevelles - You Hit The Spot Baby
Out and out Deep Funk that never lets up!! Released on the Atlantic distributed Flaming Arrow label, from the same lady who later recorded for James Browns People label.

Ted Taylor -It’s A Funky Situation
Ultra catchy funky blues fron the much missed Ted Taylor, he also released some brilliant Northern on Okeh as well as a host of other labels.

Manuel B. Holcolm - I Stayed Away Too Long
Another heavy hitter on the rare and much sought after Diamond Jim label that deserves to be revived again!!!

Incredible double sider with ‘I Cant Wait Any Longer’ on the flip. Both sides are up beat dancers on Rojac, the label that made The Third guitar’s ‘Baby Don’t Cry’. Surely her most memorable release of the Sixties. She also previously recorded for numerous labels including King in the fifties.
